This section will give you advice on who can apply, how to apply and where you can find additional help and advice. Please use the information to help you through the application process.
The easiest way for an individual to apply is via the Trust’s online application form
When filling in the application form, it is very important that you complete all the mandatory questions, answering as accurately as possible in order for us to understand your circumstances fully.
It can really help your application if you seek money advice before applying.
When we receive your application, we will send you an acknowledgement email or letter including contact details for the Fund should you need to speak with anyone throughout the assessment period. If we find there is information missing or we need more information from you, we will contact you to ask for it.
We treat all applications in the strictest confidence. If you are asking for help with your gas/electricity debts, we will contact the company so that they can confirm how much you owe.
If you are successful and granted a provisional award for debt, you will receive an email or letter to inform you of this and to let you know that you will have to keep up current payments for three months before the award is confirmed. If we are able to confirm your provisional award, a payment will be made directly to the company and your account will be credited.
If you are successful and granted a white good, you will receive an email or letter to inform you of this. You will then be contacted by our delivery company to confirm delivery times and dates.
The Fund will not help with any of the following:
When we contact you for information, we will give you four weeks to find that information. If you do not reply within four weeks, we will send you a letter reminding you of the information required and give you a further two weeks to return the paperwork. If we do not hear from you within the six weeks, we will close your application because we assume you no longer want to apply. If you have difficulty in obtaining the information you need to send us (for example, if you have requested it and it has not yet arrived) please contact us before the four weeks is up and let us know. We can then give you more time to send in what you need to.
This is the only circumstance in which you will not hear anything further from us. We always write to tell those who have applied if they have been successful or unsuccessful in their application for an award.
All white goods will come with a standard warranty. For all queries regarding this, please contact the fund.
Upon delivery, the individual applicant will have full ownership and responsibility of the white good(s). If you have any queries please contact the fund.
